The movie is set in the 1700s in what is now screw today as Brazil and Argentina. The main characters be Mandoza who employ to capture and sell the autochthonals to wealthy owners. During all of this however, there is a great power struggle amid Church and State as the priming coat is being sold from Spain to Portugal. The Portuguese superpower wants the tribe to be out of the mission so that they after part enslave them and happen u pon over the land. The movie ends with a fig! ht scene between the natives and the Portuguese army, with the natives losing. All priests and missionarys are exsanguine and there are only very few native survivors. The movie shows how Christianity was a major moving force in the development of Hesperian civilization.
